In this unit I learned that... Canada is a bilingual country because the two official languages are English and French.
I found it really interesting that... commercials are usually louder and that Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications comission (CTRC) control what we watch and hear on the TV and radio, also that it keeps our cultural identity safe.
I can connect what we have learned in class to myself because every country has its own identity as do every citizen in that country, I am a citizen in Canada and I have my own indentity.
What surprised me in this unit the most was... how multi-cultural our world is, there is many different culturals around which is a pretty amazing thing because you learn and see how each culture does things, to getting someones attention or putting a straw in pop can
One question I still have is... why is not every country bilingual?
One learning strategy I found helpful was the word wheel because it helps you understand the concept of the word also how it connects to another word. If I was to teach someone how to use this I would tell them to first to look at all the words pick which word connects to almost every other word. Then to pick the second word that connects to the first word and show an example of how they connect. Next another word that connexts to the second word show how they connect. Finally once you get around the wheel this will help them remember how each word connects and the meaning of it.
PartB:Economic Globalization

Outsourcing is when a country gives a job to another country because it is cheaper to pay people in another country to create the resources they want to sell. This image represents outsourcing because it shows that may different countries and cultures outsource because each hand is coming form a diferent country also the hands are different colors. Transnational companies use outsourcing because they can save money using method. A disadvantage of outsourcing is that the quality may not be efficient.
Part C: Globalization and Identity
Bill 101 was a law passed to keep the francophones of Quebec cultural identity safe. This statement means that the government doesn't need to intervene for a country to keep it's culture Also that a country can keep its official language with out Bill 101. Quebec passed Bill 101 to try to keep their culture from changing, but the speaker says that without Bill 101 the language they speak will not change, Quebec people have spoke french for years and it will not change.
Bill 101 was successful because people learned a different language some people liked learning a new language. Imigrants that came to Quebec had to go to french school unless you were a anglaphone. Also french was the official language for francophones. People disagreed with Bill 101 because it was a challenge to assit someone that spoke french.
I do not agree with this statement because different cultures adapt to a different country. Things can change over years, because somehing started in one country does not mean it will stay in that country forever. The official language of a country can change. Bill 101 was created to keep a countries cultural identity, I believe that Bill 101 was a great idea.
Great job, Faith!!!
